Saving space in a room with triple bunk beds

We live in a time when house purchasing can be difficult especially for young families.  This being the case many families end up living in relatively small houses where bedrooms may be restricted in size.  Making the best use of a small bedroom can be difficult but purchasing triple bunk beds certainly helps.  This is even better if the triple bunk beds have a built in storage facility.

Be bright

If a room is small making it a bright and light space will give it a more spacious feel.  Don’t block out the light from any windows that are available and use bright light colours on the walls and ceiling.

Mirror, Mirror

Another way of giving a more spacious appearance is to have a large mirror on the wall.  Reflections give the appearance of depth and the room will appear to be a lot bigger than it is.

Storage is the key

If the small bedroom in question is a children’s room it may be difficult to keep it tidy.  A lot of clutter in a room just makes it look even smaller than it actually is so it’s important to try and keep the clutter to a minimum.  Get light and bright storage crates and if you can get the kids to decorate them and add their names.  It will give them a sense of ownership and putting things in their brand new crates will be fun instead of a chore.

Don’t cramp their style

Don’t assume that cramming things against the wall will make a room look bigger if your kids want that desk at an angle ‘because it’s cool’ let them go for it.  Often furniture looks better with a little breathing space around it.

Pop that Ceiling

Without making it cluttered using ceiling decoration to catch the eye it will make the ceiling seem higher.  If you are using triple bunk beds and whoever is on top wants a butterfly motif above encourage the creativity.

Think big and bold

Most kids will love chucky furniture, it’s a bold statement.  People assume that placing lots of small items in a small room is a good idea but the opposite is true.  A few well-chosen larger items are far better.  Triple bink beds fit in well with this uncluttered feel.

Colour Code

This may sound strange but arranging items in a room by colour makes it seem more ordered, and at the same time bigger than it is.  Again this might not seem to be the easiest thing to achieve in a children’s room but why not make it into a game, or a fun competition to see who can keep the colours in order for the longest time.

There are plenty of ways to make a bedroom seem bigger, or to actually make more floor space available.  Using triple bunk beds can be an important part of making this happen.
